"Pop-Top" Ink Drawing |
I enjoy teaching a variety of ages. In a single day I may
watercolor, create a collage, make an assemblage, or mold a pinch pot! I may not be a master in any one medium, but
I am competent in many and enjoy the variety of experiences.

Whether you know me as a teacher, friend, or even as a fellow student,
you know that my passion is teaching children. I consider myself very blessed to go to school everyday with four hundred
of my closest friends and cut, glue, paint, sculpt, collage, and create!
Hopefully this website will give you more insight into who
I am as a person, a teacher and as an artist.
As most of you know, I was recently a student at Georgia State
University earning my art education certification. This website is the result of one of those classes. You are
never too old to learn, and I found my classes with other artists who are dedicated to teaching children, inspiring,
challenging, and so much fun. I continue to enjoy a collaborative relationship with Georgia State by hosting student
teachers each semester in my classroom.

I don't own a single piece of clothing that does not carry with
it a memory from one art experience or another. My shoes are paint splattered, along with my hair. I forget to
put on my smock. I get caught up in the moment. My classroom is loud. We laugh a lot. Stop by if you
get a chance!

I create a sample of every art project that I teach my students.
This is crucial to pinpoint stumbling blocks inherent in the assignment. If I am frustrated by something, then
they are sure to be. I stay enthusiastic about my job by challenging myself as well as my students. I get bored
doing the same thing the same way. I am always exploring the broad range of possibilities open to us.
